Skinny Secrets from America’s Top Chefs

Wakame Salad – A brown seaweed salad:   low-fat, full of protein, antioxidents and minerals.

Skinny BBQ Sauce – Get away from the overly thick, heavy, sweet, sodium filled bbq sauces and go with something simple, liight and healthier. Mix 2 TBSP Agave Syrup with 2 TBSP Rice Wine Vinegar and drizzle over your cooked food or rub it onto the food just before it comes off the grill.

Choose your fats wisely
– Use oils with big flavor, like hazelnut oil, avocado oil, various nut oils or even extra virgin olive oil. Because these oils have a big flavor, you use less of the oil so it’s lower fat for you. For example, dip tiny pieces of bread in avocado oil as an appetizer; you might even want to add a touch of lemon or lime to the oil.

Sambal Olek – Very spicy chili paste condiment to kickstart your metabolism. Use in a dumpling dipping sauce, in stir-frys or even mixed with mustard on a sandwich. Can be found in Asian markets.

Guilt Free Snack – Old Fashion Popped Popcorn: Use 2 tablespoons canola oil per 1/2 cup popcorn kernels and pop in a heavy bottom pan. Add some nuts, dried fruit and a small sprinkle of salt to add flavor. For example, add 2 tbsp chopped walnuts, 1/2 cup of dried banana chips and a pinch of sea salt to your cooked popcorn.
